When was the last time you looked at your tail?

SB 55-01 requires the inspection of the horizontal hinge point and the horizontal attach which can be done with a borescope, or as I have done a few times now, a total disassembly of the tail. The purpose of this is to include in the inspection, trim jack screws, tail stinger, rudder and elevator bearings. I know for my 55 it had not been done in many years if ever and because I knew it would add value and just a small amount of comfort knowing my tail is in good shape. Sometimes you you just have to go for it.
