Talk about a cold windy noisy ride and to slow to top it off, I kept looking at my ForeFlight on my phone and at the best of speeds I was 105 KTS. The inspection went well with just a few small things, overall a well built airplane. It first came to life in 1973 with a ground loop down the road and new fabric and rebuild in the 80’s, having never flown anything like this it was a real challenge to handle. I kept it on the runway but with only 35 gallons I made 4 stops on my way home. I flew from Cable Airport out east to Inyokern, over Lone Pine, over Bishop, landed in Hawthorn then Alturus, then Bend, landing with the last of daylight. After 8 hours of nonstop slow and low open cockpit, cold, noisy flying, not to mention the uncomfortable seat I made it.
