I am who I am because of my dad, my co pilot. He never was a pilot or a mechanic but when he asked me what I wanted to do with my life and I told him I wanted to be a pilot he said, “then you better be one”. He always backed me up…
After a 1000 miles one way we picked up a 180 that has been sitting for 10 years. A Montana ranchers plane, he landed where only Buffalo and Indians roamed. The goal is a newly overhauled engine a handful of STC’s and a clean bill of health then back to the prairie.
Busy as always, I have the 182 flying and the kids are, as I was told ?flying the shit out of it?, what ever that means. I guess I do know what that means is my gas bill is only going up. Also have the Champ in the hanger getting its first annual in 18…
I am not sure what I am doing but Bentley Air just moved hangars, what becomes vividly clear is how much stuff you have. But in the end if you ever get there it is worth it.
All my planes wen this year to Johnson Creek for the 180/185 fly in, a good time had by all. We had the two lowest horse power planes at the fly in a Cessna 120 and my Champ. Our crew numbered 6, Max, Danny, Aaron, Riley, Wade in his 120 and myself in my 180….
